79th Annual Lewis Emery Treasure Hunt

78th Annual Louis Emery Treasure Hunt begins at 6 p.m. Saturday night at the Hillsdale County Fairgrounds and takes teams around Hillsdale County on a scavenger hunt throughout the night. 10 clues have teams by the carload traversing Hillsdale County's public places for an evening of puzzle solving, clue hunting, and old fashioned fun. Sign up early because the treasure hunt starts promptly at 6:00 and generally has around 400 participants.

Despite numerous cash prizes, not all the teams are in it for glory. Many come for the opportunity to spend a fun evening with family and friends. Some are just in it for the challenge. Winning teams usually finish the hunt before midnight. Some die-hards have staggered in after 2:00 a.m.

If you want to win, you might want to bring a few items that have been helpful in the past: Hillsdale County Chamber of Commerce phone book, Old Farmer's Almanac, Hillsdale County map, The Bible--must be King James version, a full tank of gas, a flashlight, a can opener, a magnifying glass, today's Hillsdale Daily News, a good navigator, a CD player, and a smart phone with good reception in rural areas.

Enjoy an Old Fashioned Christmas at the Grosvenor House Museum hosted by ancestors of Ebenezer O. Grosvenor, on the first Saturday and Sunday in December.

Come to Jonesville for an Old Fashioned Christmas. Our Greek Revival Mansion will be decked out for the season. Plus the Grosvenor family will host 2 days of holiday celebration in the museum across the street, complete with snacks and live entertainment on Saturday and Sunday. Open from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Enjoy Holiday goodies and beverages for the entire family.

Sunday, December 30, join other couples for our original Chef Night Cooking Party. Arrive by 3:00 to become a chef for the night in creating a feast for all guests to enjoy. An interactive cooking party begins at 3:30.

Monday, December 31, New Years Eve, join other couples for an evening of interactive adult themed Who-Done-It. Come as you are and we'll dress you up for your role. A multi-course dinner will be served while the Murder Mystery game is played. Champagne toast at midnight. Awaken to a big breakfast.
