Raker’s Trial Gardens Flowers in Michigan

The Raker Trial Gardens at Raker’s Acres located at 10371 Rainy Road in Litchfield Michigan is open for the season. A series of professionally planted gardens with new and standard flora are on display to the public along with trials of a huge variety of annuals on 5 acres of land.  

 

 
This showcase allows seed and plant companies from around the world to show off their new and traditional plants in an amazing array of gardening. This week marks the beginning of the Michigan Garden Plant Tour. Bus loads of people from across the Midwest, and individuals from around the world are checking out what is new and what is trending at one of the largest flower producers in the world. 

On this day, a bus load of Amish and Mennonite gardeners from Minnesota were viewing and ordering products for their greenhouses back home. On this special day, the Hort Couture Company provided a pig roast lunch for everyone in attendance. Liquid refreshments and snacks are available every day to keep people hydrated and nourished after a long day in the sun.

Rakers Trial Gardens is a must see in Michigan for anyone who has a garden or enjoys flowers. The gardens are open weekdays in July and August from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tours of the greenhouses with 15 acres under glass is an amazing inside look at the technology involved in producing flowers from seed to finished product.

Munro House Bed and Breakfast in Jonesville MI is the closest lodging facility to Rakers in Litchfield and offers special rates during the annual garden tour.
