Fall Colors at Peak in Hillsdale County Michigan

When all of the leaves are gone from my black walnut trees, it signals the peak season for Fall Colors in Hillsdale County. Traditionally, the black walnuts are the first trees in town to be leafless, while the maples and oaks are in full color throughout the rest of the area. From this point, we expect the Fall Colors to continue for 2-4 weeks. The leaves have changed color, but there is still time for them to fall. Local farmers will be harvesting and tilling the earth to bring on spendid shades of yellow and brown, so it’s not just the foliage that makes fall a great time for a getaway to enjoy the changing of the season.
