Once again, Munro House Bed and Breakfast in Jonesville Michigan is participating in the B&Bs for Vets program. We will be giving away free rooms at random intervals to veterans of any era. We will release rooms for this contest via our Facebook feed. After publishing the announcement of a free room, the first caller will get the room at no charge for the night before Veterans Day. A photo of the veteran in uniform is required to verify service. This year it is on Thursday, November 10. After breakfast, you are invited to join a free Veterans Day program at the Jonesville Middle School gym, just 3 blocks away. The event is traditionally well-attended by students, residents, officials, and business people.
One era of conflict will be remembered as the focus of the annual program. A guest speaker will make a speech about their experience with war and America. Additionally, students compete for a savings bond by writing a speech under the theme of freedom or patriotism. The winning paper will be read by its author as part of the event. The high school band will play while flag twirlers perform with the color guard on standby.
To make sure veterans are in town to see this program, Munro House is offering free rooms to veterans from any branch of service for the night before Veterans Day–Thursday, November 10. We will continue to release our available rooms at random in the weeks preceding Veterans Day. To guarantee the free room will be occupied, we will take a $30 deposit. Upon arrival, we will present them them a $30 gift card for dinner at Saucy Dog in Jonesville. The bed and breakfast will cost them nothing. This is our way of saying thank you to our veterans for their service to our country.
- Step 1: ‘Like” Munro House Bed and Breakfast on Facebook.
- Step 2: watch your Facebook feed that announces the release of a specific room.
- Step 3: be the first caller to 1-800-320-3792.
Sometimes, the room is claimed within minutes, sometimes it takes longer. Be the first caller, then get away to Jonesville, have dinner, enjoy breakfast with other veterans, and attend the Veterans Day program. Good luck, and thank you for your service.
