Here in Michigan, a Winter Getaway Package is a great idea for a break in the routine, a respite from work, or a reward for completing your Christmas shopping. Two nights out of town could be the remedy for winter malaise. Jonesville is a great place to take your Winter Break. A reasonable drive of about an hour and a half from many locations including Detroit, Lansing, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Fort Wayne, and Toledo. Great restaurants in a small town is a big attraction. Saucy Dog’s Barbeque is my favorite restaurant in the whole world, and it’s just 2 blocks away. Ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken, burgers, and the best beef brisket I’ve ever had is consistently very good, and reasonably priced. Olivia’s Chop House is also 2 blocks away and offers a fine dining experience in a casual atmosphere. The Cedars and Rosalie’s Roadhouse are “bar and grill” establishments with an emphasis on the grill. Ethnic choices include authentic Mexican at Los Mariachi’s and Oriental food at the China King Buffet. Additional venues include the “people’s choice” for pizza at Main Street, fast food at McDonald’s or Subway, and home cooking at the Ragtime Cafe and Hilltop Diner.
The Winter Getaway Package at Munro House B&B in Jonesville includes 2 dinners, 2 one hour massages, 2 movie passes, and 2 nights bed and breakfast. The restaurants are an easy 2 block walk from our house. The massages are done in-house by a world class masseuse. The movie passes are for your choice of new release movies on 7 screens at the Premiere Theater in Hillsdale (just 6 minutes away). Your choice of rooms with a double Jacuzzi tub and/or a fireplace is the final ingredient for a well deserved getaway. A fresh, fast, and hot breakfast is served 7 days a week. Guests tell us that our Belgian Waffles are the best they’ve ever had. You will have to find out for yourself.
