Bundy Hill is a privately owned off-road trail riding park near the Southern Michigan town of Jerome. Owners of motorcycles ATVs, Jeeps, and 4WD vehicles pay a fee to ride miles and miles of trails, hills, and dunes at Bundy Hill Off Road Park on highway 12 about 20 miles East of Jonesville. For folks without their own toys, 4WD ATVs are available to rent on an hourly basis. Many of the trails are through woodlands, while open spaces contain wet and dry obstacles. Sand and stone, pebbles and rock, plus mud and water create challenges for beginners as well as experienced riders. Varying terrain is abundant and will test your skills. Hills and woodlands provide a beautiful array of scenery within the backdrop of a sand pit. Sometimes it is just a fun thing to take a ride in the great outdoors while enjoying the day. Adults are just big kids–they like to go outside and play, too.
The staff is professional and provides recommendations for safe areas within your ability to ride. Your well-being is their top concern. Vehicle flags, helmets, and eyewear are mandatory, while long pants, long sleeve shirt, sturdy shoes, and gloves are recommended. Your vehicle is reviewed to be sure it is properly equipped. The rules are laid out and a waiver is signed that affirms that each participant realizes there are inherent and unseen dangers while operating a motorized vehicle in a rugged environment. Everyone rides at their own risk and is encouraged to realize their limitations based on their level of experience. The bottom line is to have fun and to ride safely.
The Munro House in Jonesville is about 20 minutes away. Adults comment that it is the most comfortable lodging in Hillsdale County. Parking is available for your highway vehicle, plus the toys that you bring. A fun getaway for active outdoor people can be added to a romantic couples getaway in Southern Michigan.
